Tritone Dominant System from the Israeli start-up Tritone Technologies celebrated its premiere at Formnext. Image: TritoneThe Tritone Dominant System is an additive manufacturing system for the industrial production of high-quality metal parts using Moldjet technology. This technology can print any powder suitable for metal powder injection molding including metal and ceramic materials.
Based on the patented technology of the Israeli start-up Tritone Technologies, the Dominant system is intended to facilitate the transition from prototype to mass production of metal parts with fine details and high surface quality. The system enables a safe and clean industrial environment as it is a powder-free process using metal or ceramic pastes in sealed cartridges. In total, over 10 different materials can be processed, including stainless steels, titanium, tool steels, bronze, copper and aluminum oxide. MoldJet technology also enables precise printing of large and small parts with fine details and high surface quality.
In addition, the operator can perform real-time verification and quality control of each layer during the manufacturing process. After the actual printing process, the printing tray is placed in an ultrasonic bath to remove the carrier material. After this step, the parts go through a sintering process that gives them their material properties.
The new system will be used primarily in the aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, tools and healthcare industries.
“Our solution can facilitate any shape, design and complexity for rapid time-to-market industrial production,” says Omer Sagi, VP Products and Business Development at Tritone. “The market is ready to move from prototyping to mass production of high-quality metal parts.”
